Floqq Course at Opinno, Madrid HQ
The co-working space at Opinno Head Quarters in Madrid has opened its doors to Floqq’s Programming course. Alejandro Perezpayá, the teacher, is 16 years old and handles the complex language of programming gracefully without even noticing. His prowess is applied to drafting lines and lines of content filled with characters, punctuation marks, and acronyms. Just by watching him in action, you can tell he knows a lot and is really good at what he does: speaking the language that is the raison d’être of Internet and web applications.
Based on his conference about the 0.8.5 version of Node, Jade or J.S. (“for those who don’t control Jade”), and Mongoose, the young and promising programmer reassures that he “enjoy[s] learning and programming”, with the purpose of having fun, learning more about programming and getting a deeper understanding of how technology works.
If you ask him to choose between high-school math equations and the programming language, Alejandro claims that neither seem difficult to him. “You just have to dedicate some time and effort to the things you want to learn. It’s all about making mistakes and rectifying”. This shows his energy and patience when it comes to learning (and teaching they way he did).
“Collections, local data bases, Jade syntaxes, emitting a Jason…” It all has a code behind it and a message. After all, the programmer drafts the code as a dispatch for a receptor to upload and assemble it on a page that will be referenced from the browser. But that is not all. English is the most important element. Especially for a kid that is no longer fledgling in the IT world. “There are many books [about programming] in Spanish to learn from, but the original versions are always better, since a lot is lost in translation”.
This kid’s genius is due the investigations and documenting that he does online, at stores and in new technology areas. Once he has all the data he needs, he “looks at it all, one by one, and things just start emerging”. With this idea in mind, Alejandro sat at the table by the projector, to explain to the young –yet older than him- audience about computer programming.
In a nutshell, the Floqq programming course organized by Opinno, contributed great technological value to all the attendees, without ignoring the great family virtues of a boy who has not forgotten his main priority: his studies. Nonetheless, his preparation as a programmer will never end because technology continues to evolve very quickly on a daily basis.
