Saving meets sharing with Clubmomio.com
The next time someone in Spain receives an incredible deal at a store, restaurant, or spa, imagine how much more excited they would be, and how much more successful the offer would be, if they were able to easily send that same offer to their friends on Facebook so that they could enjoy it just as much.
Clubmomio.com is a new Spanish startup that connects companies with clients via discounts and special offers all over Spain. It also allows clients to easily send discounts to their friends via social networking and give feedback to businesses. Some of their categories are health and beauty, food and drink, shopping, sports and leisure, technology, and travel.
The discounts are offered to three different categories of companies. The first is small to medium-sized businesses that are focused on the public and have no more than three locations run by the same company. The second is companies with more than three locations. The final category is on-line stores, which are also geared to the public.
As there are already many similar sites in Spain, such as Cupoon.es, Oportunista.com, and Cuponeo.com, Clubmomio.com CEO José Luis Galán was asked about what set Clubmomio.com apart. According to Galán, “Our primary goal [...] is to be much more interactive for the user by making it possible to share discounts via social networks, send evaluations of offers to friends, and give feedback to businesses.” Because of this approach, “The biggest difference that users encounter is smoother communication between the user and the advertiser, which fosters confidence between both parties. This is how we are able to provide the next discounts.”
Furthermore, because Clubmomio.com is free and open to everyone, clients have the advantage of not having to register to download coupons. This also makes it easier to buy group discounts. Coupons be obtained in three ways; via PDF, text message, or the iPhone or Android application (coming soon).
The biggest difference for businesses versus other promotional methods is that there is a flat rate for advertising, and they are never charged extra based on how many users download their coupons. According to Galán, this flat rate is especially important for small and medium sized businesses because they have a greater need to control the costs of their campaigns.
In addition, because business can directly control their advertisements via their administration panel, offers are posted quickly and always changing. This allows businesses to better sell their products and services based on their availability and the condition of the market. Since users are sent emails with offers based on their interests, they are notified quickly of any new discounts. Because of this, says Galán, “businesses’ have the ability to present their latest offers quickly, attracting customers and building customer loyalty, at a low cost.”
According to Galán, the biggest challenge with Clubmomio.com has been “putting this platform in place with a low level of investment.” As for any startup, investment is key for Clubmomio.com to get ahead of the competition.
When asked what were the plans for Clubmomio.com in the future, Galán responded, “Clubmomio.com will have to rapidly adapt to and take advantage of all of the changes in technology and consumer preferences in order to become a leader in the market. We will equip ourselves with the flexibility necessary to continue changing, create the team we need for growth and development, and capitalize on the new opportunities that technology gives us–especially mobile phones and tablets because they allow access to the Internet in any time and place.”
