TR35 Awards
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), through its Technology Review magazine, annually searches for the world’s leading young innovators under 35 years of age to grant its TR35 award. The goal is to find fascinating work and inspiring new ways to revolutionize the world of technology and business in the near future.
Opinno, publisher of Technology Review in Spanish, organized the first edition of Spain’s TR35 awards in 2011 to recognize the work of 10 young Spanish innovators, using the magazine’s criteria, who are developing projects in their areas of expertise. The jury, composed of renowned professionals in the business world, innovation and technology, awarded two of them a further recognition: Innovator of the Year and Humanitarian of the Year.
Now, Opinno and Technology Review en español are expanding into Latin America with the organization of the first TR35 awards in Mexico (May), Colombia (June), Argentina (July) and Uruguay (July).
The TR35 awards cover areas such as biotechnology, software development, transport, energy and materials among others. The only requirement to qualify for an award is that the candidate is less than 35 years old on the date of delivery of the awards that he or she is a national or resident of the corresponding country.
We are looking for young people that, while fulfilling our requirements and developing new technologies or creatively applying existing ones, stand out in their field and have a promising future. The goal is to award creative and relevant work applicable to society at large and not just for its specific industry.
The candidates can perform their work in universities, public or private research centers, emerging businesses or large companies among other institutions or enterprises.
